Exciting times for us at Bixby HQ as the launch date of our collaboration with Pottery Boy founder of Ceramiques, is approaching fast!
16th June at 7pm you’ll be able to buy one or all of three special edition necklaces co-designed by he and us!
Six weeks after trying the clay at a hand building class PB, as we call him, opened his first ceramics studio. Ceramiques Elsternwick. It was a huge leap of faith for the twenty year old who had to sell his car. He needed to fund the initial purchase of the wheels and some clay to get him going. What we loved most about his story was that he jumped into it, boots and all. No plan B - it was make it work or nothing - and work it certainly has.
He now has 250k followers on Instagram, drawn to both the results of his pottery efforts and his colourful techniques. Over 1.5 million avid viewers on TikTok watch his sexy but comforting videos at the wheel.
When Covid-19 first hit in 2020, he rented out the studios’ pottery wheels and pivoted to selling DIY kits. These proved to be a runaway success. These days he works mostly behind the scenes, “planning, organising, ordering … and making sure everything runs smoothly.” Earlier this year he travelled to LA to teach classes in studios there this year. Recently he walked in Australian Fashion Week. Appearing recently on the This Morning show he attempted to teach Larry Emdur how to use the wheel.
PB will jet off to the USA as soon as he can. His hard work at such a young age is really paying off. Its setting him up for opportunities in all sorts of creative pursuits. Now including branching out into jewellery design with us here at Bixby and Co. He seems to love his work life but does have a great balance. He finds time to get away to take his dog to the beach and chill out, getting breakfast and coffee.
Meanwhile here at Bixby and Co HQ we sigh over how adorable PB is!
